FISH TESSELLATION SPHERE by M.C. ESCHER REPLICA STATUE DUTCH ART
Offered here is an artistic rendering of a fish tessellation art work by Dutch artist M.C. Escher. It is a highly detailed statue, sculpture or figurine of premium quality. It is part of the Parastone Mouseion Collection of Museum Collectibles and was made in the Netherlands by skilled craftsmen.
M.C. Escher (1898-1972) Escher was a twentieth century Dutch graphic artist recognized for his unique interpretation of repeating patterns or tessellations, impossible architecture and skills in lithography and woodcutting. Though he lacked formal training in math or science, he was greatly appreciated by mathematicians, scientists and crystallographers for his intuitive capacity for transforming geometric shapes into a workable and adaptable scheme. He became fascinated by the regular Division of the Plane when he visited Alhambra, a fourteenth century Moorish castle in Granada, Spain in 1922. He would later extend his passion from paper to carved beech wood spheres.
